We hope to see you in our Burien shop on Friday, Nov. 15 from 5:00 to 8:00! This is your opportunity to choose your very favorite Christmas wrapping paper and save 15%! The selection of really pretty papers this year is amazing! Wrapping presents with beautiful papers and ribbon is one of my favorite holiday activities and a tag written in lovely calligraphy is the frosting on the cake. Alicia will be on hand to write custom gift tags in calligraphy to coordinate with your gift wrap. (If you haven't taken a calligraphy class yet this might be just the motivation you've been waiting for!)
In addition to the gorgeous papers, we are delighted with the assortment of books, candles, jewelry, wraps, bags, stocking-stuffers and more goodies filling our shelves. Our hope is that you'll find a few perfect gifts for the ones you love! We'll also be temping you with some adorable Christmas cards, napkins, table-runners, advent calendars and ornaments to put the sparkle in your holiday entertaining! As Winnie the Pooh says, "Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon"! Whether it's one big, beautiful, round balloon or an organic garland full of balloons, we can help you put together a modern take on this most cheerful party decor! We love to celebrate a birthday with a number balloon or a big round one with a name in calligraphy. Gift Wrapping Creativity!
Once we begin to get our gift list under control, it's time to think about putting together a pretty combination of giftwraps! Weather you love the traditional red and green or prefer a contemporary look of gold and white we have a lovely selection of patterns in each of our shops.This year as we continue to be totally smitten with all forms of calligraphy, we've had such fun creating wrap with plain black, white, kraft or gray paper and a variety of the pens we have in stock. The Faber-Castell white PITT artist pen makes a striking, bold line on black, kraft or gray wrap. If you haven't had a chance to take one of our Calligraphy classes yet (check them out here: http://www.paperdelights.com/product-category/classes/), you may want to get a start with a good calligraphy book. We recommend Modern Calligraphy Workshop by Imogen Owen (https://www.paperdelights.com/product/modern-calligraphy-workshop/).What to write on your lovely wrap? Repeating the name of the recipient (on a diagonal?) makes a snappy pattern. Lyrics to a familiar Christmas Carol makes a nostalgic statement. If beautiful script is not your thing, try using a long straight edge and a bold to make a trendy plaid or repeat a small icon in a grid pattern. Add a ribbon, a sprig of holly or cedar and you have a package that shows how much you care!
