Sweet, sweet Valentine
Valentines' Day is probably my favorite holiday! First of all, I love the color pink…mostly in soft, muted, blushy tones, but for Valentines' it's popping out all over the shop in hot, bright pinks accented with gold foil, whites and of course, red! Just the spark of brightness we need during the gray season. Next, I think, aside from my one true love, most of the rest of my friends and family expect very little of me on Valentines' Day. This sets up the exact situation in which I can excel! Merely dropping a pretty card in the mail can set up a whole series of delightful consequences: a smile, an email ;|, a phone call ;)… Add a sweet treat {yes, many unexpected choices available in the shop} and they're over the moon! Just like that! Enjoy your Valentine consequences!
Time to stock up on Hostess Gifts!
I love arriving at a gathering with a pretty gift for the hostess. Something useful, tasty , fragrant or slightly eccentric {metallic gold confetti} are just the thing to delight and thank the hostess!
We're going Downtown!
Yes, we are working hard to open our new Holiday Pop-Up Shop at Pacific Place in downtown Seattle! New fixtures, new signs, new staff, and loads of wonderful, new papery products! Come Saturday, November 1st we'll clear away the ladders, paint brushes, a few cobwebs and the advertising posters in the windows to reveal our sparkling new little shop!
As always, this is a family affair. We are so lucky - everyone pitches in to get the job done. No old-fashioned child labor law exemptions for any able-bodied Perkins/Olsen family members!
Fixtures are moving in and product is beginning to arrive! We couldn't resist "playing shop" when the beautiful Holiday aromas arrived from Illume!
